Gluten Free Food at Yeni Meze Bar in Edinburgh

Last month my friend Michelle & I had a fabulous dinner at a restaurant called Yeni, in Hanover Street, Edinburgh. I was extra excited to find that the menu was clearly labeled with “GF” against each dish that was gluten free AND over half the menu is suitable for a gluten free diet. Yay Hay!

Yeni serves a mixture of middle eastern and mediterranean meze dishes which are kind of similar to Spanish Tapas, with a twist. The menu includes items such as Humus (GF pitta bread available!), Kizartma (mediterranean veg with garlic yoghurt), oven baked aubergine, Falafal, garlic mushrooms, prawns sauteed in olive oil & garlic, patates with a spicy tomato sauce, Dolma (stuffed vine leaves), Kebabs, salads and more.

Gluten Free in Looe, Cornwall – Trawler’s Restaurant

On our last night in Cornwall, we decided to have dinner out in Looe. If you’ve never been to Looe before, it’s a lovely little fishing town, with a beach, a nice harbour and lots of little restaurants and cafes to choose from. We initially decided to go to Squid Ink as they had gluten free options indicated on their menu, but unfortunately they were fully booked. So if you fancy a trip to Squid Ink, definitely book in advance.

Gluten Free Pub Food in Cornwall – Charlestown, near St Austell

This summer we decided to take a week’s self catering holiday in Cornwall, for some relaxation, sea air, a bit of sightseeing and hopefully some sunshine. We’ve booked a week in a lovely apartment with a balcony overlooking the sea, just a mile or so away from the little harbour town of Looe. Here’s a photo of the view from our balcony:

Since I’ve been on a gluten free diet, a self catering holiday has been my preference. Thankfully Stuart & I both enjoy cooking and the self catering gives us the flexibility of cooking in or eating out. Eating out every night ...

Gluten Free at Wok & Wine Edinburgh

Gluten Free Chinese Food at Wok & WineLast week I paid a visit to the Wok & Wine restaurant in Edinburgh. As the name suggests, Wok & Wine is a Chinese restaurant that also serves a good selection of wine. If you have coeliac disease you will know that eating out in Chinese restaurants can be a challenge due to the fact that soy sauce appears prominently in many dishes. Wok & Wine provide a separate gluten free menu that includes a good selection of dishes made with gluten free soy sauce and using potato and rice flour instead of wheat flour.

You can find Wok & Wine on 57a Frederick ...

Gluten Free at Rosa Mexicano in South Beach Miami

Guacamole at Rosa Mexicana - Gluten FreeI hadn’t had a Mexican meal since before I went on a gluten free diet, so I was delighted to find that Rosa Mexicano featured a gluten free menu!

Rosa Mexicana is a chain restaurant and can be found in two locations in Miami – Lincoln Road Mall and in Mary Brickell Village, which is a shopping mall in downtown Miami.

You can also find Rosa Mexicano in Boston, LA, Washington DC, Atlanta, Minneapolis and a few others.

The restaurant is very bright and colourful and the one we visited in Miami was also pretty big. They  have a seperate gluten free menu, so if you just ...
