Gluten Free Pub Food in Cornwall – Charlestown, near St Austell

This summer we decided to take a week’s self catering holiday in Cornwall, for some relaxation, sea air, a bit of sightseeing and hopefully some sunshine. We’ve booked a week in a lovely apartment with a balcony overlooking the sea, just a mile or so away from the little harbour town of Looe. Here’s a photo of the view from our balcony:

Gluten free chocolate cake made with ground almondsBefore I was diagnosed with coeliac disease I very seldom made cakes – buying them was so much simpler! However, once I started the gluten free diet I realised that my choices were very limited. Although there are some gluten free cakes available in the supermarket, there isn’t usually a lot of choice and they tend to be two or three times more expensive than regular cakes.
